We’re hiring! Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity in one of the world’s greatest knowledge and tech clusters? Oxford Capital, a leading venture capital firm in the heart of Oxford, is seeking a talented individual to join our team.
As an Investor at Oxford Capital, you will play a critical role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments in high-growth, innovative companies across a range of sectors within the thriving Oxford ecosystem and across the UK. As part of our Investment team, you will be responsible for identifying investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, negotiating deals, and supporting portfolio companies through to exit. We founded Oxford Capital in 1999 with a mission to help individuals and families access high growth and innovative companies. Since then, we’ve invested £500m+ into over 100 companies across the UK. We invest in digital and deeptech companies in areas including digital health, fintech, business software, climate tech, ecommerce and mobility. We love AI, digital marketplaces and SaaS models. Key responsibilities:
- Sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities
- Conducting detailed due diligence on potential investments
- Preparing investment papers and presenting to Investment Committee
- Negotiating deal terms and supporting portfolio companies
- Monitoring and reporting on portfolio performance
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong track record in sourcing, evaluating and executing investments
- Deep understanding of venture capital and startup ecosystems
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- University degree, and possibly financial services qualifications

Responsibilities
Mission:
- Cultivating existing relationships within the present client base and establishing new relationships to drive the ongoing raising of funds for our investment management offerings.
- To represent the Firm and communicate its investment strategy and products to investors
- Increasing the value of current customers, whilst attracting and onboarding new ones
- Planning and overseeing new marketing and sales initiatives
- Researching to find new investors and opportunities
- Attending conferences, industry events and investor meetings
The person
Essential:
- 2.1 Degree
- 5+ years experience in a sales/ business development / Investor relations / front office role
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong IT skills and record keeping
- Solutions orientated, proactive and self-starter mentality
- Team player
Desirable:
Experience preferably in financial services / alternative investments
Qualifications: IMC / IAD (Level 4) – or equivalent
